So, what do we think?
In some states it is legal for women to go topless, nothing covering their breast.
Men, even though we have breast, or some do, and nipple, don’t have any restrictions accept when going inside stores and places that sale food.
But women much cover up even at the beach, or in there yards, and such.
Breast are sexual, but so are legs, feet, butts covered in tight jeans or skirts.
The thing that makes breast sexual is touching them, not actually looking, and in that context men can be sexually interesting due to chest development.
So, what do you say?
Should all states review the bra and allow women who choose to be topless?
Yes. This sexualization of all things feminine is stupid and is destructive to our
society. Women should have all the same laws as men.
Yes, I agree. Breasts are intended to feed babies. We have chosen to sexualize breasts and make them taboo. I'd bet that even if it was legalized everywhere, not many would choose to go topless anyway because of the sexualization of the whole thing.
It is also rediculous that some women are shamed for breast feeding in public. It's one thing if someone is uncomfortable with seeing a woman's breast out... it is much easier for that person to shift their gaze than it is for mom and baby to find a "discrete" place.
Yup, equal is equal. Let it be so. I'm curious if laws are kept this way by men, or their mothers.
But perhaps bra technology itself needs to morph? The Wife says going without one can be comfortable, most of us can understand that. But to do so and then run around can be quite uncomfortable, even for an average sized woman.
We should get rid of all these types of stupid laws, in my opinion. Laws should never be made based on others' perceived rights to not be offended. Nowhere in the Constitution does it state that I have a right to not be offended by something.
I think a more barefoot-friendly society would be a good thing too, but that is another matter I suppose. You'd have people agreeing with us about letting women go topless, while saying those of us who like to traverse bare of foot are just nasty.
Oh and the evidence for what Cody said? Nudist colonies. Granted, those groups of nude jaybirds do get a lot of attention, especially the nude skiers up here (don't ask me how they survive the sub-zero temperatures!) but anyway once the novelty has worn off, then it's pretty normal. not so much this great conbspiracy of sexism, but the nudists who described it to me said for the first few weeks of doing it that is all you're thinking about. And then, just like getting used to seeing anything, it wears off and it's no big deal.
I think Wayne's right, most wouldn't do this that often. Especially up here in cooler climes. I don't know if an exposed boob would be more prone to injury, though. Nudists say you do have to be careful of getting sunburn in some formerly-not-sunburned areas of the body so.
I agree with what has been said, and am happy to see that others feel as I do, regarding people's freedoms needing to be equal.
Yeah, why not. Let them tah tahs out.
hahaha.
No. seriously. I agree. Though I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable going topless in public myself.
Bernadetta, why not?
I get cold. lol.
No. I'm actually serious. I get cold, even in a swim suit during summer time. No joke.
Hell yeah! I'd go topless.
Leo raises a good point though. Running around or even certain types of brisk walking does cause the ladies to bounce a bit which can be uncomfortable.
I heard iin Europe women can go topless to the beach. I say hell yeah, we
should be allowed to go topless, why not? I agree with cody's post, and I
believe some of these things don't make sense. There shouldn't be anything
wrong with going out topless, especially in the summer or when it's too hot... it
would be a good idea
It is legal many places in California.
I get cold, too, but that's what the company of other humans are for...to warm you up. lol.
I dont' warm up well to strangers. lol. At least not instantly. So therefore, it can be a cold, cold world out there for me. lol.
I didn't say anything about strangers. I certainly wouldn't hug anyone I didn't already know.
Go ahead and laugh or mock, the nipple should be distinct albeit natural contrast or
artificial highlights. Its a confidence thing.
Although, I will say, sunburned boobies hurt like a mofo.
Certainly seems like they would.
Related question:
Why don't women wear boob cups when engaging in sport activity like baseball or anything else where a flying ball can hit them.
I have a rather horrid memory of throwing a baseball as a boy and accidentally hitting a girl in the boob. She fell to the ground and curled in a ball, just as one would expect after being kicked in the nuts. Quite naturally I ran to get her help. But as a boy, of course, was the prime suspect of malice in that situation.
However, ever since then, I've always wondered and never gotten an answer: Why don't they make boob cups? Is it just too uncomfortable an obstruction? It strikes me they are more vulnerable, because of the increased surface area.
Hmm, good question. Perhaps we should invent that.
This should be invented by a woman.
I would not, for fear of two things:
Getting it wrong (I lack boobs, even man boobs, to test them upon), and second to that, the feminist radicals would have themselves a boot party at my expense for having sexualized somebody somewhere somehow, not unlike the reactions we could expect from the Puritanical religious types.
Ah, but, perhaps your state, like Oregon, has a Women's Business Development department and they will give you cash to carry out this invention. You would benefit sportswomen all over the known world, to say nothing of perhaps unknown future life forms discovered to have boobs, and, perhaps, you would get rich off the affair. You can't lose.
Women normally don't play sparts of this nature, so the boob cup wouldn't sell so well.
I maybe be wrong, but in my experience breast are no more tender than say your chest, or stomach.
Mostly the nipples are.
I'm talking about on a professional level.
Hmm, guess my growing up was different: I grew up with a ton of sporting chicks, way more athletic than I ever was, who played it all.
Maybe you are right with the pros though.
Sure, they play, but how many pro baseball players are women?
A 90 and above pitch need a breast plate for anyo ne. Not just to protect the boobs but the chest.
Well, even at the amature level, the boobs hurt when hit by something. I've got them; I should know. lol I don't know that it's quite to the level of intensity as getting hit in the junk would be for a guy but yeah, it does hurt. The biggest challenge we'd have to over come would be not having them look ridiculous or drawing even more attention to boobs.
I gotta ponder this one. lol
You no need to be highly intents sports to be hurts on the boobs or some private part. Try asking someone unintentionally throw a basket ball at your balls Wayne, then you will know how it feels. There are such things as Chest Gard, in fact, its recommended to wear them if you are playing in a goalball team, or any of the ball sports beside 10 pin balling. If men have hip gards to protect their balls and what not, women should have chest gards in a similar way too
I just want to point out that there are women leagues for most professional
sports. Basketball, football, baseball, soccer, even hockey. They all have
women's leagues. And they already make a guard for breasts. They've actually
made that for centuries. They used to make armor for the breasts in some
cultures.
Well shit, there goes our million dollar idea. lmao
Ah, but was it patented? That's where you might have an in, DG, it's all in the patents these days.
And yeah the only sport that doesn't have a women's version seems to be American football.
